Important Rules in Cell Phone Etiquette

Top 5 Rules:

  1. Turn your phone off and drive. Even if you don't check your phone when it rings, it causes a distraction because you are already thinking about what that person wanted to tell you, so the best way is to avoid that and turn your phone off.
  2. Keep your phone on silent in a theater. If you are in a theater it is distracting for another person to hear your conversation or for a person to hear your ringtone, keep your phone on silent so you are notified that you have an incoming call either go out and answer it or ignore it and same goes for texting.
  3. Don't text while talking to another person face to face. It is rude to be having two conversations at once. The person you are talking to face to face may get mad if you are texting on your phone instead of paying attention to them.
  4. Keep a low voice on the phone when around others. Keeping 10 feet away from someone may not always be enough because they can sometimes still hear your conversation. You don't want others to hear what you are saying so keep your voice low.
  5. Keep about 10 feet away from another person when on the phone. You don't want people to know what you are talking about so take it upon yourself to walk away 10 feet so that they can't hear.
